Valkeisen Loma is an idyllic rural holiday resort with comprehensive services in Ähtäri. We are open all year round. As our guest, you can stay in our country hotel or in apartments, rooms or cabins packed with old-world charm. Built in 2018, Country Hotel Aurinkorinne has 10 rooms that offer high-quality accommodation for families, couples or small groups. It is ideal for family gatherings or company training events when you want to stay in a tranquil location together, with just your own group. For visitors who prefer more traditional accommodation options, we can offer rooms in a converted barn or cabins that combine old-world charm with modern comforts, such as en-suite toilets and bathrooms.
In summer, the traditional farmyard is full of children’s sounds and laughter. Children will find plenty to do in the yard, the stunning beach on Lake Valkeinen invites visitors to take a refreshing dip after bathing in a sauna or basking in the sun, and guests also have access to a rowing boat for fishing or just enjoying being out on the water. A smoke sauna is available for groups by order and in summer you can also take part in public smoke sauna evenings. In summer, we have a café that serves coffee and other beverages in the evenings. In winter, visitors have access to winter sports equipment, and there is a sledging hill for those who enjoy the thrill of speed.
Valkeisen Loma is located a 10-minute drive from the home of two cuddly pandas, Lumi and Pyry. We are situated amid lakes and forests with nature right on our doorstep, and you can find wild berries growing right outside our yard. You can also rent snowshoes or a fatbike from us and enjoy a trip in the beautiful natural surroundings of Ähtäri. Tuuri Department Store, with its great shopping opportunities, is a 30-minute drive away, and in summer Powerpark (read more about PowerPark here) offers plenty to do and see an hour and a half away.
At our reindeer park, you’ll feel like you are in Lapland! Our yard area has several farm animals that you can pet during your stay. Valkeisen Loma is a popular destination for groups, workplace well-being events and companies who want to hold their meeting in a beautiful setting amid tranquil countryside. We typically have one group at a time to ensure that we can give our guests our full attention and provide them with personal service.
Valkeisen Loma’s pleasant Restaurant Tallin Vintti is open upon request, and serves delicious meals to groups and gatherings. The charming, rustic restaurant is housed in a converted cow barn. Valkeisen Loma makes an excellent venue for a party or celebration. We realise your event in accordance with your wishes, ensuring that you will have a day to remember. We prepare all the meals in our kitchen from pure, locally sourced ingredients.
