While this circular route mostly runs across the Ostrobothnian plains, it also travels through wooded areas with more variation in elevation levels.
Starting from Kauhava, the route runs to Alahärmä via Pernaja and continues to Voltti and then Lappajärvi before ending up back at Kauhava. Even though the route can be travelled with a single overnight stop, doing it over three days with two overnight stays allows you to make the most of the beautiful scenery.
The route starting from Kauhava takes you across fields and through picturesque Ostrobothnian villages and forests to Alahärmä, where you can enjoy an action-packed day at the PowerPark amusement park. In the Voltti village, you can cycle along Knuuttilanraitti street lined by handsome Ostrobothnian houses. The section leading to Lappajärvi contains some hills in the wooded areas to bring variation to the otherwise mostly flat route.
The centre of Kortesjärvi is not directly on the route but offers an ideal location for a pitstop and a place to buy more snacks to go. In Lappajärvi, you can find a range of comfortable accommodation, from hotels to more affordable options. The last section of the route takes you back to Kauhava across traditional farming lands and through villages.
