The Kurikka Museum invites visitors to learn more about the local traditions and history from the stone age to the 19th century, when the area’s old cottage was built.
The old church, built in 1672, takes the visitor back in time. The museum also offers an introduction to the work of wedding musician and instrument-maker Sameli Elomaa and the home region of author Samuli Paulaharju. The local history and stories shed light on the beginnings of Kurikka’s entrepreneurial spirit.
The Homestead building is open by request all year round. Whether you come as part of a small or large group, the house, complete with its fireplace, offers an ideal setting for a relaxed gathering, celebrations and meetings.
