The horse statues located in Kurikka’s market square remind visitors of the area’s history. A stable used to be located on the belltower side of the market square, offering a place for church-goers to leave their horses for the duration of the service.
The statues are the handiwork of Antti Pienimäki. At least one of them was carved as a likeness of the well-known stud Eri-Aaron.
