Run by the Alavus Historical Association, the Old War Veteran’s Museum is located in an old granary next to Alavus Church.
The museum derives its name from a poem written by J.L. Runeberg, the national poet of Finland, for his book The Tales of Ensign Stål. The museum’s exhibition covers two floors, which house items related to church history, the Battle of Alavus, the Stone Age, and farming and transport.
The museum is open in June and July from Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am–2 pm. Open by request at other times.
