Piispanpolku traverses across a varied terrain, over outcrops and along forest paths and duckboards near Simpsiö Ski Resort. Parts of the route go through the Simpsiö nature reserve. The route is equipped with info boards, which provide information on the region’s history, flora and fauna. There are also several rest areas. Simpsiö Hill rises more than 100 metres above its surroundings. While the summit is covered by pine trees, the landscape around it is a lusher, wetter forest type dominated by spruces. The terrain is varied, with drier herb-rich forests and bogs with rich flora and fauna found along the route.
